Were you at our biggest barnraising ever!? We were, and we lived to tell the tale... Grassroots radio producers, organizers, LPFM operators, allies, and friends alit in Florence, Massachusetts over the weekend of August 4-7 to witness the mind-blowing merger of the GRC and the 8th Prometheus Radio Barnraising With soldering irons in hand and registration packet under arm, over 400 community radio supporters swept into the small town of Florence for some radio-inspired teaching and learning. The basement hallway of the Florence Community Center was turned into a laboratory of radio madness as engineers from across the country shared their skills with novices, and raced to complete the studio-building in three long and hectic days. The event culminated on Sunday, August 7th at 2pm as another low power radio station came into being when Valley Free Radio flipped the switch and celebrated their new home, 103.3FM.
